A free fuel price comparison tool built for UK drivers
Save at the Pump is a free web app that shows you real-time petrol and diesel prices at every fuel station near you, updated every hour from the UK Government's official Fuel Finder data feed. There are no adverts, no login required, and no catch — it's a free community resource built to help drivers stop overpaying at the pump.
I'm Keith, a developer based in North Wales. I built Save at the Pump in early 2026 after noticing how much fuel prices vary between stations — sometimes by 10p or more per litre within just a few miles of each other. At 150p per litre, that difference adds up to £5.50 on a 55-litre fill-up, and over £200 a year for a typical driver.
Most fuel price apps show you a list of prices but don't tell you whether it's actually worth driving further to save money. Save at the Pump's Worth the Drive Calculator does exactly that — enter your car's MPG and how many litres you plan to put in, and it calculates the net saving after accounting for the fuel you'd use making the detour. No other tool in the UK does this.
All fuel price data comes from the UK Government's mandatory Fuel Finder reporting scheme, which requires major fuel retailers to publish their pump prices in real time. Save at the Pump fetches and processes this data every hour, covering over 7,500 stations across England, Scotland and Wales. The same data feed is used by the RAC and other motoring organisations.
Save at the Pump is an independent project. If you have feedback, spotted an issue, or are a journalist looking for fuel price data, you can reach me at [email protected].
