An interactive map showing current petrol and diesel prices at stations within a chosen radius. Prices are colour-coded from cheapest to most expensive. Users can filter by fuel type and adjust search radius.
A unique feature that calculates whether driving to a cheaper station actually saves money, once the fuel used for the detour is accounted for. Users enter their car's MPG, how much fuel they need and the distance to the cheaper station. The calculator gives a clear verdict: worth it or not worth it.
Example: a station 6 miles away selling petrol at 148p vs 158p locally appears to save £5.50 on a 55-litre fill-up. After accounting for the fuel used in a 12-mile round trip at 35 MPG, the real saving drops to £3.20.
Save at the Pump tracks when each station last updated its prices. Stations that have not updated in more than 7 days receive a warning label. Stations not updated in more than 30 days — potentially in breach of the CMA's mandatory reporting rules — receive a prominent alert.

Under the Motor Fuel Price (Open Data) Regulations 2025, all UK petrol stations have been legally required to report price changes to the Government's Fuel Finder system within 30 minutes since 2 February 2026. The scheme is run by aggregator VE3 Global on behalf of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. The CMA began enforcement from 1 May 2026, with fines of up to 30% of annual UK turnover possible for non-compliant stations.
UK petrol prices averaged 161.6p per litre and diesel 181.9p as of 10 August 2026, close to the peaks seen during the worst of the Middle East conflict in April and May. Prices fell sharply in June following a brief US-Iran ceasefire but reversed in July and August as the ceasefire collapsed and oil returned above $100 per barrel.
